It will be an opportunity for the community to come out and cheer on the girl’s Dragon varsity swim team at LOHS as they host their own OAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships in early Nov.
The 2008 girl’s swimming championships will be at the Dragon swimming pool for three days at the LOHS Natatorium.
Swimming Prelims will be at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 5. The diving prelims will be at 5:15 p.m. on Nov. 6. Finals for both swimming and diving will be at 6:00 p.m. on Nov. 7.
The seven teams competing in Division II are; Andover, Athens, Berkley, Harrison, Rochester, Stoney Creek and West Bloomfield.
Swim Coach Darrin Abbasse said, “These girls are solid swimmers. We have very good strength this year and our team is balanced with some young and exciting swimmers. That is why we are in the chase for a potential league championship this year.”
5 and 1 in their division, the varsity swim team lost one meet at the beginning of the season. Their recent win over Troy Athens last week has kept the girls in the chase for the championship.
The next swim meet will be at home when the girl dragons go up against West Bloomfield at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 16 in the LOHS Natatorium
