Judging all deer hunters by few dumb acts

Dear Editor:
(In response to: ‘Hunting a right ? but not right,? The Citizen, Oct. 25, page 6):
I would have to disagree about the amount of people out here that do enjoy looking at the accomplishment of a hunter. I grew up in a hunting family and it was a family activity that I have passed on to all my children. Not all hunters hide in deer blinds, and not all use high powered rifles.
Also, get the facts straight on the feeding ban before you write. No one was protesting. It is now banned due to CWD (chronic wasting disease). I don’t think the carrot growers would really complain.
I can’t imagine where you saw a deer field dressed the way you described. Possibly in your dreams, but not in any of the woods I have hunted in. Yes, we do hang our deer for all to see that stop by, but never have I seen one hanging in a front yard.
As for the items you suggested that are at deer camp, porn tapes and prostitution, I’ve never seen those in any deer camps I have been in and I have been in many throughout each season. I am not saying that all hunters are perfect; there are the small minority that one person sees and uses those people to judge all hunters by, and you cannot judge us all by the few who act wrong and are a disgrace to the true hunters.
To say others are ignorant about hunting I would say yes, if they have the outlook on it you do.
Yes, hunting is my passion, right after my family, and it has been a passion of my family for many generations and always will be. Jerry Kowalski
