The small crowd gathered in Springfield Township last week gave a heartfelt standing ovation to retiring Supervisor Collin Walls last week as he presided over his last meeting of the township board.
Words by Supervisor-elect Mike Trout brought Walls close to tears and inspired the ovation.
‘I thoroughly appreciate you opening your office to me in the last couple of months? Trout said. ‘Your professionalism, your character, and your integrity has really inspired me. It’s going to be a challenge, but you’ve shown me and guided me and I know you’ll continue to do that.?
Trout also acknowledged retiring Clerk Nancy Strole, and Trustee Marc Cooper, who is also leaving the board, for service and leadership.
‘But especially you, Collin,? he said. ‘I don’t know if I can speak for the rest of the community, but I want to thank you for your commitment and the service you’ve given.? We’re standing here today’because of the things you’ve been able to do in this community. I have big shoes to fill, but I’m looking forward to the challenge and I appreciate what you’ve done. Thank you.?
