Two Liberty Cheer teams from Stars & Stripes Gymnastics Academy took first place in the Jam Fest Cheer and Dance Competition on Nov. 15.
‘It was terrific,? said Cheer Director Nancy Walters. ‘What a great way to start the season.?
The Sparklers competed against 35 teams in Level 1 Small Youth Division and won first place along with the judges award for Most Entertaining Performance.
The Firestorm team took first place in Level 2 Small Junior Division.
‘It was good for them to get their first competition out of the way,? said Walters. ‘They were anxious to see their scores and get better.?
The girls have been practicing since the summer. The next competition for the girls is this Saturday at Santa’s Challenge in Birch Run.
