Zach Drobot, fifth-grader at Clarkston Elementary, got a courtside view of the Detroit Pistons, learning what sports announcing is all about.
Drobot participated in the Detroit Pistons? eighth annual ‘Sprite Kids? Night and Job Shadow program,? Jan. 17. He got to shadow announcer George Blaha and listen to him talk to basketball analyst Greg Kelser, also known as ‘Special K.?
‘It was good,? said Drobot. ‘It was fun being on the court and listening to the game on the headphones.?
Students? ‘job positions? included media assistants, public address announcer, radio announcer, television broadcast aides, guest service hosts, box office ticket representatives, Fan Foto staffers, concessions vendors, mascot assistants, Automotion assistants, and court custodians.
