The noise created by Clarkston and Flint Northwestern fans nearly blew the roof off Grand Blanc High School on Tuesday as the game that started out as a mere nail-biter culminated in several long minutes of heart-stopping suspense.
Only as the final five, four, three, two seconds ticked off the clock did the Wolves know they owned it’the elusive Class A quarterfinal 70-67 victory over the Wildcats bought Coach Dan Fife and his team a well-deserved and long overdue trip to Lansing.
So I’ll stick to shooting the photos, say ‘Way to go, guys!? and leave the unbiased reporting to our sports writer Wendi Reardon (she’s a true-blue fan, but don’t tell her I spilled the beans. We have to be professional, right?)
Congratulations to Coach Fife, the entire team and everyone who supports them. See you in Lansing on Friday!
Here’s how Tuesday’s game looked through my lens and the Wolves’ victory gave the entire Clarkston community some loud, proud moments to remember for a long, long time. I was proud to watch it all unfold..
