From trash to treasure, Orion Art Center turns recyclables into art

The Orion Art Center, a non- profit arts organization in Lake Orion, MI will be hosting ‘RE-Create?, a new recycled all-media art competition this April. The show encourages entrants of all ages to ‘look for the good? and see the possibilities with what may otherwise be thrown away.
There will be over $1000 in cash prizes in children, teen and adult categories. Drop off dates for the show are April 16 to 18 between 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Opening reception and award ceremony will be held on April 22, in observance of Earth Day and will remain on display at the Orion Art Center through June 18.
The recycled show is sponsored by Waste Management- Eagle Valley Recycle and Disposal Facility. Entry fee is $20 for ages 19 and under and $25 for adult art center members/ $30 for adult guests.
Re-Create is new to the art center, which offers a variety of juried competitions each year, it is part of the Look for the Good campaign, spearheaded by Unity Church in Lake Orion.
