Independence Township Parks and Recreation fields a team at Clarkston Relay For Life, May 9-10 at Clarkston Junior High School, and they welcome new members.
‘As a cancer survivor, Relay for Life is a really important event for me to celebrate my survivorship,? said Amy Laboissonniere, member of the parks and rec team. ‘For our fellow team members, it’s also a great opportunity to remember loved ones. For anyone at the relay, it’s a demonstration that, as a community, we’re fighting back against cancer.?
To join parks or any other team, go to www.relayforlife.org/clarkstonmi. They also accept donations, all of which goes to American Cancer Society, and goods and services for silent auction. Supporters can also purchase and decorate a luminaria in honor or memory of a loved one for display on-site, and buy an official team T-shirt for $10.
