GOODRICH- The Martians have bounced back from some devastating losses over the past few weeks with a win over GAC Blue division Bentley.
Goodrich was glad for the 82-63 win on Tuesday, Feb. 4, having come off a close loss to New Lothrop on Jan. 31.
In the Martians victory Kori Garman dominated with 30 points for Goodrich. The only other player in double digits for the Martians was Michael Skinner, who added 10 points to the tally. Charlie Goetz racked up nine points while Kirk Elsworth put up eight.
Michael McCormick pulled down nine rebounds inside, while Garman grabbed seven. Max Bell had six rebounds for the Martians.
On Jan. 31, at New Lothrop, the Martians pulled hard but were unable to overcome the Hornets, losing the contest 63-66.
Garman hit for 25 points while McCormick added 10. Billy Bartley tallied nine points and Goetz added eight.
McCormick got his hands on 13 rebounds for the night and Garman nabbed seven.
The Martians increased their record to 6-4 in the Genesee Area Conference Red Division, 8-6 overall, to hold tight in second place.
Mt. Morris remained in first place in the GAC after last week, but Goodrich will try to climb back towards the top as they face off with Lake Fenton at home on Wednesday.
Next week, the Martians will take on Byron at home Tuesday, Feb. 18 before moving on to try and conquer league leader Mt. Morris on Feb. 21.
All games are slated to begin at approximately 7:15 p.m., after JV play.
The Martians took on Atherton at home Feb. 7, however, game results were not available by press time.
