Independence Township Parks and Recreation offers the Sandlot, a new fun and laid-back baseball and softball program this fall for children in grades 4-5.
‘The Sandlot is a great way for kids to get out and stay active on the baseball diamond during the month of September,” said Jeff Morris, recreation programmer. “There are games twice a week, so players can get a lot of baseball in during a short season.”
Players can sign up as a team, or be placed them on a team. All games are supervised and facilitated by Parks and Recreation staff.
Registration continues through Friday, Aug. 21, at Parks and Rec, 6483 Waldon Center Drive. Games begin on Aug. 31 or Sept. 1, depending on grade level, all at Sashabaw Plains Park.
