Anti-drug coalition successful at high school registration

The North Oakland Community Coalition participated, for the second year, at the Lake Orion 2009-2010 high school registration last week.
Emphasizing the dangers of drug use and underage drinking and promoting the importance of a unified community, the many dedicated volunteers included Township Clerk Penny Schults and members of the Parenting Task Force: Renee Rapanotti, Kim Urbanowski, and Noela Beach. High school volunteers included: Shelbie Bowers, Abby Ulewicz, Chloe Hartzell and Kirstie Smith. Members of the Coalition’s youth group StandOUT! were Drake Dawson and Kelly Fin.
The coalition would like to thank Lake Orion High School for providing an opportunity to get the message out that, as a community, we can work in together to create clear expectations and consequences for youth who use alcohol and other illegal substances.
With the public’s involvement, the Coalition can create a healthy environment for kids to grow up in.
Support the Coalition on September 12 at the Barn Daze Chili Cook off at Friendship Park and learn more about our efforts.
