Oxford Community Schools Athletic Department announced last week the donation of nearly $9,000 to the school district’s general fund to offset the costs associated with coaching stipends for boy’s lacrosse and boy’s swimming/diving.
In an attempt to ease the district’s financial burden and help the athletic department grow its offerings, the Oxford Athletic Booster Club and Foundation, Inc. made a donation of $8,960.82 to fund four necessary coaching stipends.
Both boy’s lacrosse and boy? swimming/diving will compete with varsity status this school year thanks to the generosity of the club and the fundraising efforts of the Board of Directors.
‘We are extremely proud to be able to provide funding to the athletic department and school district for such a worthy cause,? said Claude ‘J.R.? Lafnear, president of the Booster Organization. ‘We are excited about the expanded offerings for students at Oxford High School. It’s just great for kids.?
