Oakland County Parks and Riverbend Striders host the 16th Annual Hidden Forest Trail Run and Walk at Independence Oaks County Park, Sunday, Oct. 11.
Races for all ages and abilities include a 2.5-mile run and walk, 5.5-mile run and 8.5-mile run. The race course cuts through hardwood forests on woodchip trails.
‘Independence Oaks is a great location due to the rich heritage that can be found there,? said John Gault, race coordinator. ‘It really is a neat place and a great event.?
Pre-registration ends Oct 9. Race day registration begins at 8 a.m. at the Twin Chimneys Pavilion. All races start at 9:30 a.m.
All pre-registered entrants receive a long-sleeve shirt, compliments of Bauman’s Running and Walking Shop in Flint. Shirts cannot be guaranteed on race day to late registrants.
Awards are presented to top competitors in all age divisions.
Independence Oaks County Park is located at 9501 Sashabaw Road in Clarkston.
