Recipe tasting coupons sold like hotcakes at the Friends of the Orion Township Library recipe tasting event Oct. 3.
Over 150 people turned out to sample homemade fare and vote on favorites, said Pat Larivee, Friends? president.
The event was organized to promote the Friends? new cookbook, ‘Recipes from Our Home To Yours.?
Randie Bences took first place for her Cinnamon Creme Pie, while Carol Parrot won second place for Pumpkin Pie Cake and Sharon Evans won third for Matt’s off to College Pecan Pie Bars. Each winner took home a new kitchen items, plus a $25 gift card to G’s Pizzaria & Deli.
The book, $18, is available for sale at the Lake Orion branch of Oxford Bank; Lakes Community Credit Union and Orion Township Library.

Cinnamon Creme Pie

2 tubes crescent rolls
2 (8oz) pkgs cream cheese
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 stick butter, melted
3/4 cup sugar
1 T. cinnamon

Spray glass 13 x 9 in pan with cooking spray. Layer bottom with 1st tube of crescent rolls and press down.? Mix cream’cheese, 1 c.sugar, and vanilla until smooth and spread over the rolls. Layer second tube of crescent rolls over cream cheese mixture. Drizzle the melted butter over the top. Mix?3/4 c sugar and cinnamon’and sprinkle over the entire top. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
