Between terms, Carpenter Elementary’s intersession students turned into marine biologists as the explored the deep blue seas during their fall intersession, ‘Under the Sea.?
During the week, students learned about the different layers of the ocean and what aquatic life lives in each layer. They created a variety of sea creatures, transformed themselves into SCUBA divers, and even found a sunken treasure chest that are displayed in their hallway that has been transformed to look like an under the sea habitat, that all the students can enjoy.
Students attended a SCUBA diving presentation by instructor Siede Hushon, who showed the students all the apparatus and how it works for SCUBA diving.
They also traveled to Grand Blanc to see the amazing IMAX movie ‘Under the Sea 3-D,? and were able to see some actual live fish in aquariums that were in the theater.
