Tribal wear

Clear Lake Elementary’s second-graders spent some time last week making their very own American Indian vests.
The students painted various Indian symbols on recycled paper grocery bags, which had been cut to form little vests.
Each student was asked to choose five or six authentic symbols and paint them on their vest in order to tell a story.
The project was inspired by students? recent reading of ‘The Legend of the Bluebonnet.? Based on Comanche lore, the legend tells the story of how the bluebonnet, the state flower of Texas, came to be. ? CJC
