John Bowman Chevrolet celebrated a quarter century in the Clarkston community. The family-owned business is ready for 25 years more.
“We have an excellent product and an excellent market to sell into,” said Bowman, owner and president of the General Motors dealership. “We have fantastic customers.”
“We’ll continue to take good care of our customers,” said Katie Coleman, vice president and Bowman’s daughter, and 16 years with the company. “Clarkston is the best place to be, with its sense of community and hometown pride. It’s a pleasure to be part of it.”
Steven K. Fahner, zone manager for General Motors, and John P. Rock, district manager for North Central Region, presented Bowman with a plaque honoring the achievement.
“There aren’t many dealers still in business in the same location after 25 years,” Rock said. “John weathered many storms, strikes, even a couple wars, and also just updated his facilities ? it looks magnificent.”
The renovation, which earned the dealership this year’s Community Beautification Award, demonstrates its ability to step it up and not rest on its laurels, he said.
