School will start with two interim principals The Lake Orion Board of Education approved two interim principals. Mike Fenchel and Tom Tobe were unanimously voted in for a 10-week stay at the high school. The two will split the principalship, one occupying the position three days and week, and the other two.

Granny biker hits the road Usually when you see a Harley, it’s carrying a burly biker you may not want to cross paths with. But on Wednesday, Rick Popchock’s passenger was anything but that. His cargo was Lake Orion village resident 95-year-old Pat Elliot, who was on her first motorcycle ride ever.
Polly Ann Trail gets extended Outdoor enthusiasts had a little more trail to walk, run or bike on in Orion. Three and a half miles more, to be exact. The Polly Ann Trail opened a new segment in Orion Township, near Civic Center Park.

District dumps plans to reform middle schools Lake Orion Board of Education put a stop to the district’s middle school overhaul. Administrators were rushing to restructure all three middle schools and the high school through late spring and early summer in an effort to save the district money.
Election results are in Voters returned incumbents John Ranville and Michael Toth to the village council, and newcomers Douglas Hobbs and Lawrence Stumkat each won a seat, as well.
