Job fair a community-wide effort

Dear editor,
The Orion Area Chamber would like to thank the following for either their support, contribution, or opening their hearts to the men and women who fought off the bitter cold to come to the Job Fair the chamber sponsored last week.
To all of the businesses that came with jobs, I hope you found employable people and are able to hire them. Thank you to Howarth United Methodist Church and Oakland Christian Church, who not only allowed us to use their parking lots but who opened their doors so job-seekers could warm up and have a hot drink.
Thanks also to the residents of the Hi Hill subdivision, and the people who live on Bald Mountain for providing additional parking, to Pee Wee Patch Child Development for providing their bus to transport job seekers to and from their cars, to NOTA, who provided a bus for the entire day, and to Golling Buick Pontiac GMC who also provided two vans.
Thanks to Modetz Funeral Home, Genisys Credit Union for opening their parking lots to the job fair participants.
A really special thanks to Murray Feldman and My Fox Detroit for advertising, collecting resumes and coming to broadcast live from our event, to AM 580 Radio for the advertising, WPON-Captain Ron and G.I. Joe for all that they did to promote the job fair. To our co-sponsor, Hired on the Spot, who arranged for all of the businesses to attend. To the Township Organizations, DDA, Orion Library, ONTV, Orion Senior Center, Orion Parks and Rec. who attended this event to show the job seekers and businesses what Orion has to offer.
But most of all we would like to thank the UAW 5960 Retirees Group who stood out in the cold all day long to direct traffic, show cars where to park, help with direction to serve coffee and hot chocolate to the job seekers who were standing in the long lines. The group that worked inside did an amazing job getting people in and out of the job fair.
As you can see that the community of Orion came together to help people who are in need.
Thank you.
