Valparaiso University student Lindsay Slavick participated in the fourth annual ‘Bridges to World Languages? during the past academic year, a cooperative 15-week program with the Valparaiso Community Schools in which Valpo foreign language students teach their language one hour per week in an exploratory class to fourth and fifth graders.
Slavick taught Spanish to middle school students, making the language learning fun through the use of games, puzzles, songs and other activities.
Slavick is a senior accounting major. She is the daughter of Cindy Slavick, of Orion Township. and Stephen Slavick, of Lake Orion.

Lake Orion resident Susan Koch joined Walsh as the instructional quality coordinator for the Academic Office.
Koch has experience in both higher education and corporate training. She is a certified training generalist, a former adjunct faculty member at St. Clair Community College and a former manager for a Michigan-based tutoring company.
She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in education from Eastern Michigan University.

Summit Sports Inc., a Bloomfield Hills-based outdoor recreation and sports retailer, named Brigitte Liedke senior apparel buyer. She is a resident of Lake Orion.
In this position, Brigitte is in charge of purchasing apparel, accessories and footwear for Summit Sports stores in Brighton, Farmington Hills, Lansing, Rochester Hills, Birmingham’s Don Thomas Sporthaus and the company’s e-commerce Web sites, including Skis.com and Snowboards.net.
Additionally, she is responsible for positioning product on the Web, developing online content — shooting video, managing markdowns and increasing employees product knowledge.
Prior to her joining Summit Sports, Brigitte was a buyer for The Nailco Group and Nordstrom in Oak Brook, IL. A member of the Society of Industry Leaders, Brigitte graduated from Michigan State University in 1995 with a bachelor’s of science in merchandising management.
