March 13, Lake Orion High School hosted the second Middle School Wrestling Oakland County Championship, with 21 schools participating. Clarkston junior high took first with 240 points, Waterford Pierce middle school ended up in second with 220 and Pontiac Middle School took third with 195.5. Though Lake Orion middle school teams didn’t place in the top three, many individual wrestlers earned top marks.

David Moore (Scripps) beat Correy Sisas (Pontiac MS) by a score of 12-2 in his first match. He then pinned Luke Heberling (Rochester Hart MS) in the semifinals. He won the championship bout by fall in a time of 3:47 over Damian Tenuta (West Bloomfield Abbott MS)
Charlie Highlen (Waldon) won all of his matches by fall. He finished off Jake Dionne (Clarkston JH) in 1:29 then Dallas Pruitt (Pontiac MS) in 1:27. His final match against Jackson Tomski (Farmington Power MS) took 48 seconds.
Zach Arnold (Oakview) also won all of his matches by fall. He beat Peter Price (Rochester Hart) in 48 seconds then pinned Isaiah Robles (Waterford Pierce) in 26 seconds. He downed Brennan Rourke (Waldon MS) in a time of 3:30.
Joey Friedman (Waldon) won 4 matches via fall. He beach Alexie Gruenberg (Clarkston Sashabaw MS) in 2:18, then Donovan Seaton (West Bloomfield Abbott MS) in 37 seconds. His semifinal match against Jake Gajdzik (Rochester Hart) took 1:03 and he pinned Tyler Lovelace (Huron Valley Highland MS) in 4:25 for the championship.
