Lowrie’s Landscape and Plum Hollow Design Studio invite you to celebrate the union of their two businesses.
‘Our two businesses are joining together, like getting married,? said Lowrie’s owner, Tom Lowrie.
‘It’s the joining of two great minds,? said Suzie Bennett, owner of Plum Hollow.
‘With the economy the way it is, we needed to form a partnership,? Lowrie said. ‘We had a discussion this past December and we realized we have a lot in common.?
‘We have a similar clientele,? Bennett said. ‘I thought, wouldn’t it be nice to have the same location? Why not combine the business??
Plum Hollow specializes in beautification of every room inside the home, and Lowrie’s spruces up the outside, so they have the entire homestead covered.
‘It’s a one-stop shop,? Bennett said.
Lowrie’s, located in a historic house at 9539 Dixie Highway, now showcases Plum Hollow’s room arrangement and design, window treatments, wall coverings and decor, fine rugs, custom bedding, bathroom tile, and color schemes.
‘I lived here 15 years ago ? it looks 10 times better than when I lived here,? Lowrie said. ‘It has nice ambiance. The colors are a lot warmer.?
The decor will change to show different styles and ideas, Bennett said.
‘I added fun, new things to make a homey atmosphere,? she said. ‘I want to show what I like in my own home.?
Lowrie’s, voted ‘Best Landscaper in Oakland County and Clarkston? by both Oakland Press and Clarkston News readers, offers award-winning landscape designs, seamless landscape installations, ponds and cascading waterfalls, brick patios and walkways, retaining walls, and bulk landscape supplies.
Lowrie’s backyard terrace with tent, seating of up to a 100, granite top kitchen, artificial-turf putting green, and play structure, is available for gatherings.
Many of Lowrie’s decorative statues and planters are included inside the shop.
‘I included a lot of Tom’s retail with ours,? Bennett said. ‘Clients are really excited about it ? they can’t wait to see it.?
‘We share ideas ? I have good ideas for her business, she has good ideas for my business,? Lowrie said. ‘We feed off each other.?
Lowrie has been a Clarkston business owner for 31 years. Bennett has been assisting customers for 18 years as manager, owning the business for the past year.
‘We’ve made a commitment to our customers,? she said. ‘This is my passion,? Lowrie said. ‘It’s one of the most rewarding occupations you can do.?
