Independence Township building department lives to see another day.
Township officials voted not to outsource the department to Carlisle/Wortman Associates.
The vote was split 3-3.
Trustees Neil Wallace and David Lohmeier along with Clerk Shelagh VanderVeen voted in favor of the proposal. Trustees Larry Rosso, Mark Petterson and Supervisor Dave Wagner voted ‘no.? Treasurer Curt Carson was absent.
