‘Goal of schools to have all children medicated??

Dear editor,
When did it happen that our elementary schools are in the position of diagnosing all of the children, most are given the label A.D.H.D.?
After researching this, I discover it is a United States socially excepted practice. My grandson was given that label at the age of 5 (which never fit).
After a few child psychiatrists, therapists, and 2 1/2 years of psycho stimulants which made him depressed, suppressed his appetite, caused insomnia, nausea, and numbness, my daughter stopped the psycho stimulants at the beginning of this year.?
About 6 months ago my grandson was given the diagnoses of having a mild form of Asperger’s Syndrome.
The powers that be at his school, Pine Tree Elementary, don’t accept this diagnosis. Furthermore, they are not happy that my daughter made the decision to stop all the drugs.
On March 30, a Psychiatric Evaluation at Oakland Schools was done on my grandson by a Dr. London.
It was orchestrated by the powers-that-be from Pine Tree Elementary School. It has become very clear that this was a set-up to pressure my daughter into putting her son back on the drugs that did not work to control his impulsiveness.?
Dr. London gave the diagnosis of A.D.H.D. with Asperger’s Syndrome tendencies and he said that my grandchild needed to be on medication.?
He also told my daughter that if she cared about him learning and growing into a productive adult that she would have to do this.? He also said that she wasn’t giving the medication enough of a chance.
Well, I’m going to turn it around on the good doctor and the school.? It has only been about four weeks that we have had back our beautiful, happy and imaginative grandson.?
They ? the school ? have not given him a chance.? The current statistics according to Frontline are that 6 million U.S. children are taking psychiatric drugs,? that is more than half of the student population in the country.?
I pray that I am not the only person that finds this disturbing. Is it the goal of the schools to have all the children medicated? Is their plan to make a complacent society, as well as a society that does what they are told?
What kind of message are we sending the children??
To quote Thomas Armstrong, Ph.D. We tell the children to ‘JUST SAY NO TO DRUGS? and then turn-around and tell them? but don’t forget to take your behavior controlling, consciousness-altering drug after breakfast and lunch!
