Haven’t found that perfect Mother’s Day present yet? Look no further, say Kathy and Michael Wieland, managers of the Lake Orion Farmers? Market.
Even though the market does not officially open until May 26, the Wielands are planning a Pre-Mom’s Day Sale, ‘just for fun.?
The one-day-only event will be held Wednesday, May 5, from 2 p.m-7 p.m. The Farmers? Market is located behind Children’s Park, next to the Orion Art Center.
The first 200 moms to arrive at the sale will receive a drawstring backpack, and everyone who attends will get a bag filled with coupons from downtown shops.
‘You don’t have to be a mom to buy things, though,? said Kathy Wieland. Edibles, such as fudge, toffee, and fresh bread will be available, as well as great gifts for mom.
The regular-season Farmers? Market is held Wednesdays, from 2 p.m-8 p.m., starting May 26.
Wieland said she is always looking for vendors and volunteers, and everyone has a lot of fun.
‘The Farmers? Market is a destination station,? Wieland said. ‘Come by and meet your neighbor and create a community.?
During the summer, vegetables and plants are plentiful, with organic and locally grown products always available. Wieland invites everyone to ‘Come on by, and get natural.?
The Lake Orion Farmers Market is a member of the Michigan Farmers Market Association.
