Honor student gives back to Kid’s Kloset

When Alissa Reddy of Ortonville became co-president of National Honor Society at Our Lady of the Lakes during her senior year, she organized a school fundraiser for First Congregation Church of Clarkston’s Kid’s Kloset
‘I loved the interaction with the families that visited,? said Reddy, who volunteered for this organization in the past. ‘Helping with the clothes selection is fun and the kids are always excited to pick out clothes and a toy.?
In May, students gave donations for a Friday Jeans Day. Proceeds were used to purchase personal items often needed and not donated. They also collected eight bags of gently used clothing and paper products.
The Kid’s Closet provides food and clothes to families with children under the age of 6. Families can visit once per month and must live in Oakland County. Kid’s Kloset is only open Saturdays, 9 a.m.-12 p.m., 5479 Clarkston Road.
