Oakland County Fair comes to town

The Oakland County Fair returns to Springfield Oaks County Park, July 13-18.
Daily fair attractions are offered free, including exhibits in historic Ellis Barn, circus shows, exotic petting zoo, 4-H exhibits, pig races, Globe of Death motorcycle show; Miracle of Birth display, horse shows, contests; give-aways; and games.
Oakland County Parks and Recreation features include free Puppet Show, Chaos Obstacle Course, Tropical Maze, Mini Bouncer and Dino slide inflatables, and climbing tower, July 14 ? 15.
Grandstand events include Figure 8 Races, Rodeo, Demolition Derby, Monster Truck Show, and Bump & Run car show.
All evening grandstand events are $8/adults, $4/ages 6 -10, and free for children 5 and under.
Playworld Carnival is open 1-11 p.m., Tuesday-Friday; 12-11 p.m., Saturday; and 12-9 p.m., Sunday. For carnival prices, visit www.oakfair.org.
Thursday, July 15, is Oakland County Parks and Recreation Day, with free entry for holders of a 2010 Annual Vehicle Permit. Also, free carnival rides for individuals with disabilities and one caregiver, courtesy of Playworld Amusements.
