Festival day was fabulous at Independence Elementary last week.
That was the consensus of students, teachers and parents who took part in the day-long event Thursday.
Kids had the opportunity to attend a fun musical assembly, as well as a variety of workshops presented mostly by parent volunteers, throughout the day.
Presenters gave rotating groups of kids a snapshot lesson in topics like dancing, acting, singing, magic, crafts.
‘We do this every year and we always rely heavily on parents,? said Chris Hardman, PTO vice president, who’s children Kyle and Colleen attend IE.? ‘That’s what makes it beautiful; they’re not teachers, just people who have a passion for what they do, or businesses who volunteer to share their day with the kids. It’s exciting, all the talent we have right here in our school.?
