Geoff Moore, a well-known Christian recording artist, will be getting back to his roots.
The singer/songwriter who was once a member of the band The Distance, will be performing at the Brandon High School Performing Arts Center courtesy of the Seymour Lake United Methodist Church. The venue will be a homecoming for Moore the 1979 Brandon High School graduate.
“When I arrived at Seymour Lake UMC in the summer of 1999. . .I had remarked that we should invite him home for a concert/benefit kind of thing,” said Debbie Line, Seymour Lake United Methodist Church pastor. “Now a few years have passed and we are ready to host this very well known Christian artist.”
Lori Cook of Cook’s Farm Dairy chaired the project in hopes of securing a performance by Moore. After long hours of hard work, her efforts paid off. “We had never organized anything like this before, so it was a real learning experience,” Cook said. “There have been so many surprises and blessings along the way that we know it will be a good experience. It has been very fulfilling and it is going to be a great concert.”
“Back From Nowhere” will open the evening for Moore.
The concert is open the general public, tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door and can be bought in advance at Seymour Lake United Methodist Church and at Cook’s Farm Dairy.
