Classic movie buffs are in for a reel treat ? pun intended ‘when they visit the Northeast Oakland Historical Museum now through the end of August.
A collection of vintage film memorabilia ranging from 1918 to 1952 is currently on display at the 1 N. Washington St. facility, courtesy of Oxford Village resident Rob Burns.
Burns? display includes old lobby and window cards (i.e. early forms of movie advertisements), vintage movie magazines, photographs and other interesting items.
Featured stars include Charlie Chaplin, The Three Stooges, Peter Lawford, Janet Leigh, Shirley Temple, Robert Young, Rosalind Russell, James Cagney, Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, Fred MacMurray, Carole Lombard and singing cowboy Gene Austin.
The museum is open from 1-4 p.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Admission is free.
