Ben Reed, Robert Carpenter and Edmond Ian shone for the Brandon boys track team at the Saginaw Valley State University Division II competition.
The Blackhawks placed 11th out of 15 teams in the meet March 20 with a total of 12.5 points. Kearsley finished first with a total of 73.5 points, while Haslett finished second with 71 and Fenton third with 63.
Reed finished fourth in the 800 meter run (2:10.19), while Carpenter took fifth (6-0) and Ian eighth (5-6) in the high jump. Carpenter also finished sixth in the 400 meter dash (1:46.02).
Reed also competed in the 1600 meter run (5:04) and was part of the 4 x 400 meter relay team (along with Adam Hyde, Carpenter and Jon Preston) which finished with a time of 1:01.
Other Brandon competitors at the invite were:
·Matt Tinsey (13:37) and Danny Fulks (13:41.3) in the 3200 meter run.
·The 4 x 800 relay team of Chris Holton, Brad Lawrence, Jared Blunk and Paul Mathes (10:19).
·Mark Stermer in the 800 meter run (2:25).
·Jeff Haselhuhn in the shot put (32’9).
·Lawrence in the 1600 meter run (5:24)
·Hyde and Ian Edmonds in the 60 meter high hurdles (each finished at (9.6).
·The 4 x 200 relay team of Preston, Chad Rabideau, Brandon Zoldos and Edmonds (1:43.3).
·Preston (7.7) and Rabideau (7.9) in the 60 meter dash.
·Hyde in the 400 meter dash (56.7).
·Edmonds (17’10”) and Zoldos (16’1″) in the long jump.
