In their 13th season, the Harlem Ambassadors have performed at approximately 220 fundraising games and entertainment events for non-profit organizations, including Big Brothers Big Sisters and Rotary, as well as for the U.S. military. At 7 p.m., Oct. 30 the Harlem Ambassadors will visit Brandon High School, 1025 S.Ortonville Road.
The team consists mostly of college basketball and professional players and their show features ball-handling tricks, comedy routines and laughs while delivering a positive message for kids.
The opponents will be Flint Metro and Oakland Athletic League Coaches along with alumni. The event is hosted by the Ortonville Lions Club to help raise funds for Lions Club charities including the Lions Brandon School District Scholarship program. Admission is $5 in advance and $7 at the door. The event will also feature a 50/50 raffle. Individual and corporate sponsorships available for $50 and $75. The Harlem Ambassadors show is family entertainment for audiences of all ages.
