Dear Patriots,
At this point in time, I’m not sure when this letter will reach you. You may be deployed overseas on a peace keeping mission, involved in one of the many operations of the war against terrorism, involved in one of the many activities of homeland defense or poised waiting for an incursion into Iraq. Wherever duty calls, we want you to know that we appreciate your personal sacrifices and your performance of duty in protecting our nation and our way of life.
Our military Reserve and National Guard units are a vital part of our response to terrorism, both at home and abroad. The active duty military could not carry out all of its missions without their support. We gratefully recognize the sacrifices of our reservists who leave their families and civilian jobs to meet our nation’s call.
We ask of you, as we were asked in the past, to confront an enemy opposed to our national moral standards and our way of life. We ask you to face and defeat those who have no regard for the rules of war and who have no respect for human life. We have great respect and gratitude for your efforts against this foe. We know you will do your duty with resolve and with honor. Good luck and may God speed you on your mission.
Respectfully,
Duane F. Getzmeyer
Commander,
