Three runners go to state

Three cross country athletes are moving onto the state finals after Saturday’s MHSAA Cross Country Division 1 Regional meet.
Senior Lindsey Fantin, junior Adam Bruderick and sophomore Sam Tanielian finished in the top 15 to qualify.
Fantin beat Lake Orion’s Ashley Bartreau by one second to take the last state final spot, finishing in 15th at 19:47.
The Lady Wolves finished in sixth place as a team with 126. Stoney Creek took the top spot with 86 points, followed by Lake Orion and Waterford Mott to continue to the finals.
The boys team finished in fourth with 117 points. Stoney Creek placed in first with 79 points. Lake Orion and Waterford Mott finished off the top three for the boys teams as well.
Bruderick finished in fifth place in 16:19 and Tanielian finished in 16:32, tying for ninth place with Oxford’s Dylan Smith.
Fantin, Bruderick and Tanielian head to the Michigan International Speedway on Saturday to compete in the finals.
