New Leaf Flower Studio hosted its grand opening, Dec. 11, setting up shop in the former Heather Lake Market at 4746 Clarkston Road, at Eston Road.
Owner Jill Mathewson offers full floral services, and hosts 12-15 watercolor painters, wood finishers, metal work, glassmaker, acrylics, old-fashioned blacksmiths, and other local artists.
“I wanted to open a shop and support the community,” she said. “I love the unusual and creative ? I’m always looking for new ideas.”
She moved to the area with her husband, longtime Clarkston resident Robert Mathewson, from Chicago.
“I’m really happy to be here,” Jill said. “I’ve had nice support from neighbors and the community.”
