What does the proposed Addison library site offer?

n The current library offers 1,200 to 1,300 square feet whereas the proposed location offers approximately 3,000 square feet.
n The proposed location offers the capacity to expand the adult collection by 55 percent, from 411 to 635 lineal feet of shelf space. The youth collection could be expanded by 51 percent, from 169 to 255 lineal feet of shelf space. Current location offers no room for expansion or even the current collection of materials, as many must remained either stacked in piles on the floor or stored in a closet.
n Right now, the library has seating for four children and four adults. The proposed location could provide seating for eight children and eight adults.
n One unisex lavatory is available at the current library whereas the proposed location could offer three ? staff, unisex and youth.
n Parking is limited at the current location to two spaces whereas the proposed site offers numerous spaces.
n Right now, the current library offers one computer terminal with internet access, which patrons must stand at in order to use. The proposed site offers room for three additional internet-access computers (to be purchased with grant money), all of which could be used by seated patrons.
n Proposed location offers greater visibility being located on Rochester Rd.
n Rent of the proposed location is reasonable. The $1,000 per month is 25 percent the current going rate for the space offered.
