Brief: Rockin’ telethon to benefit FISH

Orion Neighborhood Television (ONTV) has teamed up with the Oxford/Orion FISH food pantry to launch the first ‘Feed Our FISH? Live Telethon, Saturday, Feb. 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
ONTV will cablecast live from our studio, the Orion Township Public Library (825 Joslyn Road) and the Orion Township Board Room (2525 Joslyn Road) in an effort to involve as many community groups and individuals as possible.
ONTV is planning various entertainment acts and a fun filled day of giving. The SuperNova’s, Rich Eddy’s Rockin? Oldies Band and Mark D. Boucher will all perform at the studio.
The North Oakland Dixieland Band, among others, will perform at the Orion Township Public Library.
Dixieland Band member George Sinnott says, ‘We’know that many people are currently unemployed and are using the FISH food bank to make it through difficult times.? We only hope that people in the community will participate’by bringing food to the drop-off points and enjoy some of the entertainment being coordinated by ONTV.??
Each hour is sponsored by a local business who will donate prizes to raffle throughout the Telethon.
