Dear Editor,
On behalf of the Old Newsboys, thank you to everyone who stopped and donated to this great cause again this year. We realize that everyone is in a hurry right before Christmas, but by taking the time to stop, Goodrich alone raised just over $3,500. That will provide a Christmas for approximately 175 children.
Every year, a group of volunteers mans the corner of M-15 and Hegel Road. Without them, none of this would be possible. They are Shannon Mashburn, Mark and Mel Trowbridge, Larry Shuster (with his antlers), Larry Flood, Dave Swanson, and Carol Ferguson. Year after year you come through for us. Thank you.
We also received very generous donations from the Goodrich Historical Society, Lucy’s Pet Supply and Genesys Cardiology. Thank you so much for thinking of us.
Again this year, Lucy Grogan made our job so much easier by separating and folding more than 1,200 newspapers. What are we going to do when you graduate, Lucy?
Helping to keep us warm this year were Beacon Hill Convenience Store and the BP Station. They provided hot chocolate and coffee for the entire day. A special thank you to DJ at John’s Steakhouse for donating pizza.
We hope to see you all again next year.
