Tyler Fischer-Greenfield, 25, and his mother Pamela Allen, 50, both of Holly, face up to life in prison for armed robbery in Independence Township.
Fischer-Greenfield allegedly entered the MedCenter Pharmacy in the Independence Pointe Plaza, 7210 N. Ortonville Road at about 9:35 a.m., March 15, and announced a robbery.
With what appeared to be a pistol in his waistband and wearing a hoodie, hat, sunglasses, and a scarf around his face, he apologized to pharmacists before demanding Oxycontin pain killers.
Employees handed three bottles of it to the suspect, who ran to a Cadillac reportedly driven by Allen, and they fled onto southbound I-75.
As information was broadcasted, Det. John MacDonald of Independence Township substation stationed himself at Sashabaw Road and I-75. The suspects exited at Sashabaw, and MacDonald and uniformed deputies made the arrests.
Deputies recovered the drugs, pistol ? a broken air-soft pellet gun ? and disguise. The suspects were questioned at Independence substation.
Both Oxycontin users, their plan was to steal the drug for their use and to sell to pay their bills. Allen has three other sons, ages 13-18 years old.
Fischer-Greenfield admitted to two recent drugstore robberies in Fenton, one in Waterford, and another in Milford. He said he acted alone in those robberies.
He was charged with Armed Robbery, a felony punished by up to life in prison, and Delivery or Manufacture of Controlled Substance less than 50 grams, 20-year felony. Allen was charged with felony armed robbery, up to life. Arraignment was at 52-2 District Court in Independence Township, $100,000 bond on Fischer, no 10 percent, and $50,000 personal for Allen.
Fischer-Greenfield has a 2006 misdemeanor conviction for Operating While Impaired from Mt Pleasant, and a 2007 misdemeanor conviction for Possession of Controlled Substances from Midland. He also has several pending charges.
