Ortonville- Please pick up after your pets.
The village does not have a specific ordinance addressing the cleanup of animal excrement, but officials are asking residents to properly dispose of dog waste while walking animals in the village.
‘Please be courteous and pick up after your dog,? said Village Manager Larry Brown. ‘Most people do, but some may need a reminder to clean up after their pets.?
After hearing some complaints, the village council is considering ‘doggie clean-up stations.?
During the council’s March 28 meeting, Trustee Liz Waters presented several options for pet waste bag dispenser systems. The options ranged in price from $21 per unit, up to $389.
The council plans to continue researching the options.
