Friday afternoon at Oxford High School turned out to be a busy stop for the Oxford Fire Department and Oakland County Sheriffs.
After responding to a call at the varsity baseball field for an Avondale baseball player who was hit in the left temple with a baseball during pregame warmups, the Fire Department and Oakland County Sheriffs responded to the scene of a two-vehicle accident on Ray Rd near the high school.
A 36-year-old female from Rochester Hills was traveling west along Ray Rd in a Volkswagon 10 A when she began to make a left hand turn into the entrance between the varsity baseball and varsity softball fields.
She proceeded to strike a 47-year-old male Oxford resident in a Dodge Caravan, who was traveling east along Ray Rd.
Both drivers were transported to POH with unknown injuries by the Oxford Fire Department.
According to the accident report, the female informed officers she was not paying attention when she made the left hand turn. She was issued a citation for failure to yield. ? Staff Writer Andrew Moser
