Oxford’s girls track team won 13 of 15 events on their way to outdueling the visiting Brandon Blackhawks.
The Wildcats defeated the Blackhawks 81-47 in Brandon’s first Flint Metro meet of the year April 15. The Blackhawks? only two event wins came in the long jump, where senior Patrice Andre took first place (15?10?) and in the 300 meter hurdles, where senior Sarah Koss was triumphant (53.9 seconds).
Three days earlier, the team garnered a third place finish at the New Lothrup Invitational.
Jenny McCarty and Melissa McCarty teamed up to win the shot put (55?10?). Andre and Kylie Kayga won the long jump (with a combined jump of 28?1?), while the shuttle hurdle relay team of Danielle Ashlford, Melissa Swineford, Jessica Swineford and Koss won that event with a time of 1:21.7.
