Clarkston rocker Kid Rock gave fans a concert they’ll never forget, April 16 in Flint.
Rock opened with ‘Rock N Roll Jesus,? sporting a Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band t-shirt with a baesh vest, faded blue jeans, and vintage Kid Rock fedora.
The show was invite only and part of the Jim Beam Live Music Series.
‘We wanted to make this show a little different from what the standard fan might have already seen,? said Amanda Lamb, Jim Beam brand manager.
The goal of the Jim Beam Concert Series was to get artists to do something a little bit beyond what they normally do, Lamb said.
‘We wanted to dial it up a notch, the live music show was always going to be in Michigan, it is Kid Rock’s backyard,? Lamb said. ‘It made sense to bring him here because it is an intimate show and we wanted to make sure we were doing it for some of those passionate fans who were with him when he came up.?
Kid Rock and the Twisted Brown Trucker band performed 13 songs on the venue’s small stage, including ‘Rock On.?
Lamb said if one song by Kid Rock were to represent Jim Beam, it would be ‘Born Free.?
‘We both have so much passion for the military and it’s one of the ways we truly work in tandem with each other,” Lamb said.
Capping the night off with ‘Born Free,? Rock pointed out two young military men in the back of the venue and brought them up to the stage to shake their hands.
