Oxford Bank donates $2,000

Oxford Bank, a subsidiary of Oxford Bank Corporation, announced today that the company’s employees will be donating $1,000 each to both the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan and the Jeremy Curtis Cancer Fund of Oxford.
The money was raised through Oxford Bank’s ‘Dress Down for Charity? program. This program allows bank employees the opportunity to donate at least $1 to charity in exchange for dressing in casual attire during the fourth Friday of each month. The $2,000 represents money donated during the 2002 fiscal year. The recipients were determined by employee voting.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan is a chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America, the largest wish granting charity in the world. The Michigan chapter anticipates granting nearly 400 wishes this year and has offices in Livonia, Lansing and Grand Rapids, with more than 80 percent of expenditures going toward program services.
The Jeremy Curtis Cancer Fund was organized to receive monetary donations that benefit Oxford, Michigan resident and 1998 Oxford High School graduate Jeremy Curtis. Mr. Curtis was diagnosed with brain cancer in May of 2002. All donations help offset uninsured costs incurred by Mr. Curtis and his family due to his treatments. Oxford Bank employees donated $2,000, March 5, to Lighthouse Emergency Services of Clarkston and the Ortonville Community Emergency Fund.
The money was raised through the bank’s ‘Dress Down for Charity? program. It allows employees the opportunity to donate at least $1 to charity in exchange for dressing in casual attire during the fourth Friday of the month.
The $2,000 raised represented money donated during the 2008 fiscal year.
