Music for parkgoers

Clarkston Area Chamber of Commerce hosts the 32nd season of Concerts in the Park, 7-9 p.m., Fridays, June 17-July 22, in Depot Park. Local talent performs at 6:30 p.m.
Kicking off the season is Blackthorn, playing traditional Celtic music, June 17. The four-member band sings a variety of tunes in harmony using wooden flute, accordion, tin whistle, five string banjo, cittern, bones, and other instruments.
On June 24, Toppermost plays the best of the Beatles, from their early days of the live performances in 1963 up until the Beatles? last tour in 1966.
Cats and the Fiddler performs bluegrass music, July 1. The musical trio, Carmen Gibes, James Richardson, and Shaun Richardson, are all 14 years old.
The 17-piece Stardusters Band, playing swing/big band music, takes the gazebo stage, July 8. The band began in 2005 and rehearses at Clarkston United Methodist Church, 6600 Waldon Road.
On July 15, Funkee Station plays Motown, Classic Soul, and Classic Rock hits from the 70s, 80s and 90s.
The Rick Lieder Band wraps up the season, July 22. Rick and Dayna Lieder lead a seven-piece band, playing a variety of music.
