New Hope Bible Church, 8643 Sashabaw Road, hosts the third annual Music Under the Moonlight, 4-10 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 20.
Local musical groups will perform, including The Abolitionist Hymnal Project, Jen Halls, Shaye and Dan Tennant, and Marty Fleszar.
Admission is $10, and includes food and beverages, s’mores, bonfire and concert. Proceeds support Clarkston resident Malinda Werth’s three-month internship in Karlsruhe, Germany, with The Justice Project.
Werth is currently serving as a missionary to the World Outreach Center in Fort Mill, S.C. In Germany, she and project members will work in outreach efforts in the local red light district, and establish a rehabilitation center for human trafficking victims in Europe.
‘It’s been said that ‘all that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing,?? Werth said. ‘Music Under the Moonlight is a way to bring the truth about human trafficking to light and an opportunity for people who care about this issue to do something about it. Every person matters. Every person should have a voice and the ability to be free ? that’s my heart in this issue.?
Parking available at the church. Events will be in the pavillion behind the church.
