Village seeks interim administrator

Goodrich-The village council will seek resumes for a temporary village administrator.
Council member Richard Saroli said the job opening will be listed in several local publications in an effort to fill the post.
‘Right now we’re looking for an interim manager,? said Saroli.
In March, long-time Village Manager Jakki Sidge vacated her office following a whirlwind of controversy stemming from a 3-2 vote at a special meeting Feb. 11, when the village council approved a motion requesting her resignation. Sidge had served as the village administrator for about the last 15 years. Since then the position has been vacant.
The job posting will be closed on Aug. 29.
Saroli added that the job will be contingent on the Plante & Moran study that will be released at the Sept. 12 council meeting. The village used $15,000 not in the budget for a special study by Plante Moran for a future financial model for the village. The study examines several aspects of the government including shared services with Atlas Township, personnel utilization and efficiency.
‘The study may suggest we hire a part-time manager or go with a full-time, so we should wait until it’s released,? Saroli said.
Key in the requirements for the job are grant writing, he added.
‘We look for an individual that is balanced and that can look objectively at the community.?
