Card holders

September is library card sign-up, a time to sign up for a new card or get a new one.
“Generally, if you lose your card it is $1 to replace it,” said Keegan Sulecki, head of Teen Services, Independence Township Library. “For the month of September, we will replace these cards for free.”
The library offers books, audiobooks, CDs, movies, puppets, ebooks and eaudiobooks, and loan items from across the state through Michigan eLibrary Catalog.
“Since September is also back to school month, this is a great time to sign-up,” Sulecki said.
Services for card holders also include online renewal, holds, and interloans, and unlimited time on library internet computers.
Reference librarians at the library can direct student to encyclopedias, reference books, and databases to help them with their assignments.
“The library is also a great resource to all ages during these uncertain economic times,” Sulecki said.
The library also offers free story-times for children, crafts, movie showings, video games, knitting programs, book clubs, computer classes, investor education, author visits, and other programs.
