Big brother surprise at Pine Knob

Marine Private First Class Nickolas Johnson of Clarkston surprised his little brother, Tyler Renusch, with a visit to his school, Sept. 8.
Johnson, his mother Pamela Renusch, and grandparents Doug and Brenda Alexander arrived at Pine Knob Elementary shortly before dismissal. Tyler knew his brother was coming home, but not when.
“I want to thank Principal Jodi Yeloushan and Tyler’s fourth grade teacher Mr. Ross for their cooperation in helping with this surprise,” Brenda said. “Nickolas was very impressive looking in his uniform. I know it pleased Tyler beyond words to have his class see a real live Marine.”
Johnson arrived in Clarkston on Sept. 7 after graduating from Tech School in Pensacola, Fla., at the top of his class. He is an aviation airframe mechanic, assigned to Marine Huey and Cobra helicopters at Camp Pendleton in San Diego, Calif.
After another month of training, he will receive his orders. He is asking to be deployed overseas.
