Kurtz shot one under par 70 at Paint Creek against Troy, an even par 71 at Sanctuary Lake in the Troy Invitational, and two under par 69 at Bald Mountain in the OAA League Tournament.
LOHS boys varsity golf coach Monty Gallaher said no Lake Orion golfer has ever broken 70 in the school’s history. Kurtz was also recently named the Detroit News Athlete of the Week.
Kurtz is a captain on the LO team for the second straight year, and will be trying to make it to the state finals for the third year in a row.
‘He is very deserving, and has put in many, many hours of hard work and dedication to get to this point,? said Gallaher.
